Installing the patch manually
To install the patch manually, you will need to download the correct patch executable file.
WARNING: Failure to install the correct patch will render the game corrupt and require a full download and installation.
Check the current version of the game you have installed by starting the game. In the upper left corner of the opening screen is the version and patch number.
Use the following table to select the correct patch for your game version.
If your game version is not listed in the above table, then you will either need to allow the game to auto-update itself, or you can download the entire game installation file.
Changes from previous release
- Added an advanced tab in the sound options menu that lets you adjust individual sound volumes. This works in conjunction with the sound group volume sliders.
- Fixed an issue on the large airfield center runway not ending sorties as successful landings.
- Fixed a collision issue in the small airfield hangar and the Me 262.
- Removed a vestigial vehicle hangar from the port.
- Added missing AA guns back to the town.
- Adjusted some default sound levels and changed how external sounds are affected by distance and having your engine running.
- Changed the dead town building shapes to provide more contrast and make it easier to tell what's been destroyed.
- Fixed an issue that caused some hangar objects to appear semi-transparent if you had your graphic detail sliders set very low.
- Fixed a few Z (depth) fighting issues in the town.
- Changed the tower in vehicle bases and ports so that it doesn't list fighter and bomber availability.
- Moved the PT spawn location at the ports.
- Fixed a couple areas of the town where a bailed out pilot could fall into the ground.
- Fixed an issue with a bush passing through a town wall.
- Removed some poly remnants from the damaged wing of the TBM.
- Changed the hangar armor charts to show penetration figures at various ranges.
- Fixed the prop hub of the F4U-1A so that it doesn't fade when the prop is spinning.
- Fixed an issue in the tank gun sight that would sometimes cause a large number 32 to appear above the sight.
- The film viewer is back to no longer restricting your head position to the cockpit.
- Fixed an issue with some plane's cockpits not showing up in the film viewer.
- Fixed a head position bug on the F4U-4.
- Bubble canopied planes had inadvertently received extra up head position room, changed this back.
- Changed the I-16's hangar loadout to remove a .50 cal shape from the .30 cal loadout.
- Fixed an issue with the Mosquito VI that kept a couple of rockets from being destroyed when the wing was destroyed.
- Fixed incorrect display of propeller pitch on the Boston, A20, B26 and Mosquito.
- F2B pitot tube was not disappearing with the wing.
- Made a small change to how joystick initialization was handled.
- Changed the labeling of the force feeback stall and buffet sliders.
- Fixed a bailout bug introduced in patch 2.
